Affected to the 3rd Regiment of Engineers at Arras, Pas-de-Calais for his military service from 1910 to 1912. Mobilised at the outbreak of WW1, he rejoined his regiment the 3rd. August 1914. Injured by shrapnel the 6th June 1918 he died of his wounds the 7th June 1918 and is buried in the Military Cemetery at Somme Suippes, Marne.
Horseshoe & Wheatsheaf Public House The Horseshoe and Wheatsheaf Public House, 34 Melior Street, Bermondsey in 1898. Thomas Francis Geraghty was the landlord here from at least 1921 to 1923. The pub still exists and today is simply named the Horseshoe.
